Below you will find the frequently asked questions for our web site as they pertain to each area of our web site.
Web Diaries (or Blogs)
How do I start a web diary or blog on your web site?
To start a web diary or blog on our web site simply register as a member. Once you have registered please contact us and express your interest in blogging so that we can active your account. Once activated you will see a new menu to the right which will offer for you to 'Create Content'. From that page you can create a blog entry.
I already have a blog how do I get it to display on the Organic Learning web site
Simply contact us with the URL of your web site and, subject to reviewing some of your content and the presence of an RSS feed, we will add a feed from your web site.
I noticed you have three categories of blogs - what is the difference between them?
Organic Learning Diaries - is a collection of the diaries of all those people who blog via their Organic Learning account.
Aussie Diaries - is a collection of blog posts created by Australian authors and includes those with blogs within Organic Learning.
Planet Diaries - is a collection of blog posts from around the globe and includes those who are already listed within Aussie Diaries and the Organic Learning Diaries.
I recently entered a blog post - how come I can't see it in your diary collections?
Diary collections are run just a couple of time across the day depending on where your diary qualifies for listing. Organic Learning Diaries are updated every 15 minutes, Aussie Diaries are updated every three hours and Planet Diaries are updated every 12 hours.
Forums
Your homepage refers to forums but I cannot see any posts. Do they exist?
Yes, they do exist but you will need to contact us and provide a little bit of personal information before we provide permissions for you to access the posts. The forums are geared towards those whom have already made the decision to home educate their children and are looking for mutual support in their approach, access to resources and making contact with others locally.
Read, Play & Learn
I was told you had information on activities I can do with my children and books I could read with them to facilitate learning but I can't find anything like that. Does such information exist?
Yes, we have some information in the Sonlight Text Support section of our web site and are working a separate special web site exclusively for book reviews as well as activities and games to play with children of all ages. Be sure to check it out!
